Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead geotechnical teams on diverse projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to UK standards. You will act as CRE/Project Engineer, guiding the delivery from concept through to reports and design validation.

You will oversee fieldwork supervision, develop staff capabilities, and contribute to bids and technical development within a hybrid working environment. Chartered status and UK geotechnical expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree educated in a ground engineering related subject (BEng/BSc in geotechnical/civil/engineering geology, preferably with an MSc/MEng).
• Membership of a relevant professional body (ICE, IET, IMechE).
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.

Responsibilities

• Production and approval of design concepts, drawings, specifications and other technical documents.
• Establishment of internal design standards to improve quality and efficiency.
• Lead teams and supervise engineers on geotechnical projects.
• Supervise ground investigations and geotechnical design reports in line with EC7.
• Assist in work winning and bid preparation.
