Job summary

Anaplan seeks a Principal Engineer, AI to work across the full stack of Anaplan AI applications. You will build production‑ready GenAI features that empower business users within planning workflows, combining deep ML knowledge with strong software engineering.

You will lead deployment of scalable AI systems, integrate LLMs for enterprise planning, and develop API services and observability to ensure robust performance and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related quantitative field.
• Extensive hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering and production systems.
• Deep knowledge of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and conversational AI patterns.
• Experience with model serving frameworks and A/B testing for AI features.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and deployment of scalable Generative AI and ML systems into production environments.
• Develop end‑to‑end GenAI features including backend services, model integration, monitoring, evaluation and deployment.
• Integrate and optimize LLMs for business planning use cases with prompt engineering and RAG implementations.
• Build conversational interfaces and agentic workflows for complex planning tasks via natural language.
• Implement evaluation frameworks to measure GenAI feature quality, including accuracy, latency and user satisfaction.
• Design APIs exposing AI capabilities to Anaplan’s platform and third‑party integrations.
• Optimize inference pipelines for performance and cost, with observability and monitoring.
