Centrica Energy is the trading arm of Centrica, trading LNG, gas, power, and energy attributes, connecting producers, suppliers, and off-takers in wholesale markets.

We seek a passionate, highly motivated Lead Full Stack Developer with strong analytical skills to join a fast-moving, high-performing team working on a cutting-edge data platform based on AWS. The role offers exposure to expanding our AI footprint with Azure OpenAI.

You will architect cloud-native solutions, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices in code quality, security, and performance across front-end and back-end components.

The data platform rollout provides pre-trade analytics to the Energy Trading Front Office within Centrica. This role offers close collaboration with the commodity trading unit, from requirements gathering to delivery.

This position can be based in Antwerp (Belgium), Aalborg or Copenhagen (Denmark), or London (UK).

About the Role:

• Improve and use our continuous delivery pipelines to release features
• Design and develop APIs, microservices, and serverless components using Python and C#
• Shape a modern cloud platform with AWS services and containerization (ECS, EKS)
• Mentor and lead junior developers globally through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
• Engage with stakeholders and help build the team’s project portfolio
• Build solutions using Azure OpenAI framework
• Develop and maintain applications with modern front-end and back-end tech
• Ensure applications are scalable, reliable, and secure
• Propose technical solutions and work with vendors and project teams
• Collaborate with system owners and business units for system fit
• Create high-level technical designs aligning with architecture standards

The Person:

• Strong OOP skills using S.O.L.I.D principles
• Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., SQS, SNS, Kafka)
• Proficient in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, asynchronous programming
• Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, ClickHouse)
• Pragmatic approach to business problems
• Experience with TDD and integration testing
• Familiar with development tools like Git, CI systems
• Experience in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
• Strong communication and leadership skills
