Job summary

Digital Waffle in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer (React/Next.js) to lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of customer-facing applications and services. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and help build a culture focused on customer value, engineering excellence and continuous learning.

Mentor engineers and raise technical quality.
Design and evolve React/Next.js applications and shared components.
Define frontend architecture, direction and standards across teams.
Drive improvements in performance, scalability, accessibility and reliability.
Monitor frontend performance and optimise bundle sizes.
Improve state management and component architecture across large-scale applications.
Champion modern engineering practices and code quality controls.
Collaborate with product, design, research and engineering teams to translate user needs into solutions.
Support production services, diagnose complex issues and improve resilience.
Contribute to SDLC, testing, and quality standards across teams.
