Job summary

Jensen Hughes seeks a Principal Engineer to lead advanced façade engineering and external wall fire consultancy in the UK. You will exercise independent engineering judgement, manage complex projects, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring deliverables meet statutory guidance and industry standards.

Based in London, Manchester or Birmingham, you will contribute to maintaining Jensen Hughes’ reputation for high-quality, risk-based advice and support business growth across the façade

Qualifications

• Significant experience in façade engineering and/or external wall fire consultancy.
• Strong ability to lead technical workstreams and deliver robust reports.
• Clear communication with clients, architects and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery on façade and external wall projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Exercise independent engineering judgement on façade systems and fire performance.
• Prepare and oversee external wall fire assessment reports and façade engineering reports.
• Review build-ups, materials, fire stopping provisions, and remediation proposals.
• Identify risks and develop proportionate mitigation strategies.
• Act as day-to-day technical lead on allocated projects.
