GI Group Main Account in Alfreton is seeking a Foreman to lead fabrication and welding of heavy gauge steel in a busy workshop. You will read engineering drawings and manage projects from marking out to final assembly.

The role requires MIG welding expertise, the ability to work from start to finish, and experience with presses, pillar drills and guillotines. This is a permanent, full-time position in a stable workshop setting.

Formación

• Apprentice trained in fabrication or related trade.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Experience with MIG welding and butt welds.
• Experience with heavy gauge mild steel.
• Experience on rail sector projects (Network Rail).

Responsabilidades

• Fabricate and weld heavy gauge steelwork from engineering drawings.
• Work with mild steel 3mm–40mm thickness.
• Complete jobs from marking out to final fabrication.
• Operate fabrication machinery including presses, pillar drills and guillotines.
• Measure, cut, form and assemble steel components accurately.
• MIG weld, including butt welds.
• Ensure work meets quality standards for rail industry projects.
