Job summary

Advancing People Ltd is seeking an experienced estimator to lead a growing estimating team in the cabling, data and IT infrastructure sector. The role covers IT infrastructure, structured cabling, low‑voltage electricals and wireless systems, with involvement from design to bid submission.

You will engage with clients, shape technical and commercial proposals, and steer tender strategies while working from a flexible hybrid model, attending the office 1–2 days weekly as needed.

Qualifications

• Senior estimator with experience in technology, infrastructure or engineering.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Experience with bidding and design‑and‑build procurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating, technical design and bid development for complex projects.
• Oversee cost planning, estimating and tender submissions.
• Shape scope, assumptions and exclusions to support bid strategy and margins.
• Develop technical and commercial proposals with pricing models and docs.
• Lead or validate technical designs and surveys with internal engineers and external partners.
• Engage with clients at bid stage as a technical partner, in design‑and‑build contexts.
• Monitor tender portals and frameworks and manage an opportunity pipeline.
• Drive continuous improvement of estimating standards and tools.
