Job summary

slihrms is seeking an Associate Director / Estimating Manager to lead estimating services for Complex Infrastructure projects across water, defence, aviation, transport, and energy sectors. You will oversee take-offs, cost analysis, and client deliverables, while guiding a high-performing team and contributing to bid win strategies.

The role requires a strong background in estimating methods, contingency planning, and stakeholder management across diverse projects, with chartership or progress

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction sectors or equivalent
• Chartered membership with or working towards RICS, ICE, AACE, ACostE or similar
• Strong understanding of contingency and risk allowances
• Wide understanding of commercial and contractual requirements and impact on estimating or forecasting costs
• Deep knowledge of indirect costs, cost breakdown structures and techniques to analyse project deliverability

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating service delivery from feasibility to detailed design
• Produce estimates from Class 5 to Class 1 across projects
• Support win work activities (bids, proposals) to grow the portfolio
• Develop a high performing team under regional leadership
• Oversee full take-offs and independent estimate deliveries
• Author basis-of-estimate reports for reviews and client submissions
• Lead peer reviews to drive continuous improvement
• Utilise benchmarking data, in-house data and market data in estimates
• Lead internal QA processes for client deliverables
