Job summary

Matchtech represents a client seeking a Senior Estates Surveyor on a contract basis to support a major flood defence project in Poole. The role acts as Estates Workstream Lead, offering professional oversight and advise throughout delivery.

The candidate will lead the estates workstream, review documentation, and provide sound advice on landlord and tenant and acquisition law, ensuring Council interests are protected during negotiations with landowners and partners.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in estate management and surveying, ideally in public sector, highways or infrastructure.
• Experience leading or overseeing estates workstreams on complex capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant law and property acquisition law.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the estates workstream on a major flood defence and coastal erosion risk management project
• Support reviews and sign off of relevant documentation by the Council's Estates team
• Provide professional advice on estate management, landlord and tenant matters, and acquisition law
• Review Heads of Terms, agreements and other estate-related documents
• Monitor delivery by land agents and legal advisers
• Protect the Council's interests with landowners, stakeholders and project partners
• Collaborate with flood risk management specialists to deliver the scheme
