Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking an experienced Principal Environmental Planner to join our growing team in London or Reading. You’ll lead environmental planning commissions across development and infrastructure projects, delivering high-quality EIAs and environmental statements.

You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and contribute to bids and business development while mentoring colleagues and shaping our environmental planning capability across the UK.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in environmental planning or related consultancy.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning and environmental assessment framework.
• Proven ability to coordinate EIA and environmental consenting projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and engaging with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage environmental planning commissions across development and infrastructure projects.
• Provide high-quality environmental planning and consenting advice to clients and project teams.
• Coordinate preparation of EIAs and Environmental Statements and related documentation.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, workshops and project meetings to secure consents.
• Manage budgets, programmes and resources to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
• Support business development through bids, proposals and client relationships.
