Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant to lead Environmental Impact Assessments across a range of projects. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, mentor colleagues, and work with clients to develop new business opportunities.

The role covers environmental management, consent processes, and delivering high-quality environmental outputs across the UK. The role requires strong EIA experience, leadership, and excellent report writing.

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of EIA practices and procedures and environmental principles.
• Experience across energy, residential/mixed use, regeneration, and major infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating EIA screening and scoping and Environmental Statements.
• Knowledge of UK planning system and consenting process.
• Strong report writing, verbal and presentation skills.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary coordination and leadership of projects.
• Commercial awareness including forecasting, project management and QA.
• UK driving license

Responsibilities

• Lead on coordination and delivery of environmental work by multi-disciplinary teams
• Review and maintain high-quality outputs and mentor others
• Collaborate with Impact Assessment Team across the UK
• Manage projects and subcontractors, ensure resource allocation and QA
• Lead tender proposals and bids as part of a project-winning team
• Provide environmental advice to clients and project managers
• Engage with consultees and stakeholders
• Develop outstanding reports and explain outcomes to non-technical audiences
• Oversee performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health & safety
