Lead Engineer, Mobile Performance

PlayStation Studios Mobile is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead performance optimization efforts for mobile games and proprietary SDKs. The role involves establishing practices to ensure superior technical performance across our mobile game portfolio.

Responsibilities:
  1. Optimize runtime performance of internal SDKs built for mobile games.
  2. Advise teams responsible for performance optimization of mobile games using Unity and Unreal Engine.
  3. Establish pipelines and processes to ensure high technical performance on a broad range of devices.
  4. Create metrics and targets for evaluating runtime performance at scale.
  5. Develop SDK modules for performance telemetry and tiering.
  6. Track technical changes and innovations affecting mobile game performance.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. 8+ years of professional experience developing mobile games or related products.
  2. Expertise in runtime performance optimization and memory management for mobile games.
  3. Experience with profiling tools from OS, game engines, and chipset developers.
  4. Experience correcting latency and packet loss issues on mobile networks.
  5. Strong understanding of CPU, GPU, memory, and I/O optimization techniques.
  6. Strong C++ or C# skills.
  7. Familiarity with HLSL and mobile graphics APIs (Metal, Vulkan, OpenGL ES).
  8. B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
