Job summary

Weetabix is seeking a Lead Engineer to provide daily engineering leadership for a manufacturing shift, ensuring equipment and processes run safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will coordinate maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and support strong shift performance.

Balancing hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, you will develop teams, uphold high engineering standards, and drive improvement across maintenance planning, safety and quality targets.

Qualifications

Engineering maintenance expertise across mechanical, electrical and control systems in complex manufacturing.
Experience developing engineering capability, including assisting teams and apprentices.
Proficient in CMMS and using data to improve planning and outcomes.
Understanding of OEE, downtime, quality and waste.
Ability to align maintenance with production and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day engineering on a manufacturing shift and ensure safe, reliable operations.
Coordinate planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns to maximise uptime.
Provide hands-on technical support and coach engineers and apprentices.
Produce shift reports on performance, downtime trends and impact.
Maintain CMMS records and ensure timely completion of jobs.
Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with production and other engineers to drive improvements.
