Job summary
Weetabix requires a Lead Engineer to provide day-to-day engineering leadership for a manufacturing shift, ensuring equipment and processes run safely, reliably and efficiently. You will coordinate maintenance, respond to breakdowns and support strong shift performance.
You will balance hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, supporting skills development, upholding engineering standards and ensuring maintenance is delivered effectively to maximise asset uptime and production targets.
Qualifications
- Mechanical, electrical and control systems maintenance expertise.
- Experience developing engineering capability, including apprenticeships.
- Proficient in CMMS and data-driven planning.
- Understanding of OEE and manufacturing impact on downtime, cost, quality and waste.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day engineering leadership for a manufacturing shift.
- Coordinate planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
- Drive asset uptime and reduce downtime.
- Produce shift reports on engineering performance and downtime trends.
- Coach engineers and apprentices to build capability.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and company standards.
- Lead root cause investigations and preventive actions.
