Job summary

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience as Lead Engineer / Shift Leader / Senior Engineer within Facilities Management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building services and M&E maintenance.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and ensuring site compliance.
• Familiarity with CAFM systems and maintenance reporting.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Proactive, organized approach with strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider contract team.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer on site, delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to the on-site engineer.
• Coordinate and supervise specialist contractors carrying out maintenance and project works.
• Manage the permit-to-work system and review RAMS before works commence.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety legislation and company procedures.
• Monitor service delivery through CAFM systems and maintain accurate records.
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across electrical and mechanical building services.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client and stakeholders.
• Support small project works and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Assist the Account Manager with quotations, technical recommendations and contractor management.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure contractual obligations.
• Carry out regular site inspections to maintain engineering standards and compliance.

Lead Engineer – FM Service Provider – Moorgate, London - £55,000 per annum

CBW are working with a leading Facilities Management provider who are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to oversee engineering operations within a newly refurbished commercial building in Moorgate, Central London. This impressive corporate property offers a modern, high-quality working environment with upgraded building services and excellent occupier facilities, providing an exciting opportunity to take a leading technical role within a prestigious City location. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer with previous leadership experience to take responsibility for the day-to-day engineering delivery across a large, modern corporate environment. The building offers premium office accommodation, extensive external terraces, landscaped communal areas and first-class occupier facilities, supported by modern, sustainability-focused building services.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40-hour week)

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
