Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions in Moorgate, London, is seeking a Lead Engineer for a prestigious FM client. You will oversee engineering operations in a newly refurbished commercial building, ensuring high-quality delivery of planned and reactive maintenance.

The role requires leadership experience, City & Guilds 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical), strong knowledge of building services, and proficiency with CAFM systems.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 2/3 (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience as Lead Engineer / Shift Leader / Senior Engineer within Facilities Management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building services and M&E maintenance.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and ensuring site compliance.
• Familiarity with CAFM systems and maintenance reporting.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Proactive, organized approach with strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the wider contract team.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer on site, delivering planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to the on-site engineer.
• Coordinate and supervise specialist contractors carrying out maintenance and project works.
• Manage the permit-to-work system and review RAMS before works commence.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health & safety legislation and company procedures.
• Monitor service delivery through CAFM systems and maintain accurate records.
• Carry out fault finding, diagnostics and repairs across electrical and mechanical building services.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client and stakeholders.
• Support small project works and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Assist the Account Manager with quotations, technical recommendations and contractor management.
• Monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure contractual obligations.
• Carry out regular site inspections to maintain engineering standards and compliance.
