Job summary

Omega is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join the Cheltenham team, leading definition, development, integration and certification of advanced actuation and control systems across the full lifecycle. You will own system architectures and interfaces while coordinating with mechanical, software and electronics disciplines.

The role requires a degree in a relevant field and strong experience with aerospace actuation or high-integrity systems, plus proven supplier leadership.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical/Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering.
  • Extensive engineering experience with aerospace actuation systems or high-integrity systems.
  • Proven experience leading supplier technical activities.
  • Experience with modelling/simulation tools and MBSE/SysML is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead definition, development, integration and certification of hydro & electro-mechanical actuation and control systems across the full systems-engineering lifecycle.
  • Own creation and control of system architectures, functional models, and interface definitions across mechanical, software, and electronics.
  • Own the system integration strategy to ensure accurate, well-defined interfaces.
  • Champion continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and tools.
  • Lead supplier engineering teams, review analyses and change proposals.

My client, a leading force within aerospace manufacturing are on the hunt for a Lead Systems Engineer to join the team in the Cheltenham Office!

Role and Responsibilities – Lead Engineer

In this brand-new role for an ever-growing business, you will be responsible for leading the definition, development, integration and certification of advanced hydro & electro-mechanical actuation and control systems across the full systems-engineering lifecycle.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Lead and influence supplier engineering teams; review and approve supplier analyses, design outputs, qualification evidence, and change proposals.
  • Own the creation and control of system architectures, functional models, and interface definitions across mechanical, software, and electronics
  • Own the system integration strategy, ensuring elements integrate with accuracy and controlled interfaces.
  • Champion continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and tools.
Experience or Qualifications – Lead Engineer
  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical/Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering
  • Extensive engineering experience with aerospace actuation systems or high-integrity systems.
  • Proven experience leading supplier technical activities.
  • Experience with modelling/simulation tools and MBSE/SysML (Desirable)

Candidate must be a UK National, capable of obtaining BPSS or SC clearance due to projects of work being carried out in this role!
