Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to lead clinical care in the Emergency Care Centre. The post will involve on-call duties, complex case input, and governance responsibilities, with a focus on safe disposition and patient flow.

The successful candidate will hold GMC registration, RCEM fellowship, and be on the Specialist Register or near completion, with experience in UK ED settings and teaching.

Qualifications

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
• Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM).
• Training & experience equivalent to UK CCT.
• Entry onto the Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine or within 6 months of CCT date at interview.
• ATLS / ETC, APLS, ALS Provider.
• Ultrasound trained.

Responsabilités

• Maintain the highest clinical standards in emergency medicine.
• Adhere to annual appraisal, job planning and performance reviews.
• Demonstrate professional values as per Good Medical Practice.
• Provide safe and effective care for critically ill patients with specialist input.
• Lead resuscitation teams and safely transfer critically ill patients.
• Evaluate and initiate management of safeguarding concerns.
