Job summary

L3Harris in Farnborough, UK, is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to own and advance embedded software across tactical radio and comms systems. You will work across the full lifecycle from research and waveform design to deployment and capability enhancement.

The role requires deep DSP and real-time embedded software expertise, plus experience with SDR architectures, RF integration, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with software, systems, and hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software/Electronic/Communications Engineering or related discipline.
• 7–10 years in a related embedded software role.
• Strong DSP knowledge and real-time embedded systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance embedded software for existing tactical radio and comms systems.
• Design and implement real-time embedded software for waveforms and SDR platforms.
• Develop and optimise DSP algorithms for signal processing tasks.
• Create software in SDR platforms and integrate with RF front-end hardware.
• Produce high-quality design specifications and algorithm descriptions.
• Maintain and evolve software test environments and debugging tools.
