Job summary

Lockheed Martin Ampthill seeks a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion within a phase-gate process. Based on-site in Ampthill, you will define processes, specifications and procedures for electrical hardware and support supplier assessments.

You will work on analog/digital/FPGA power electronics, perform circuit analysis and testing, document everything for traceability and compliance, and

Qualifications

• Formal Electronic qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng.
• Experience of Electronics Hardware Design & Electrical Product Development for Harsh Environments.
• Electronic analysis of derating, stress and tolerance.
• Proven Experience of Schematic Capture, PCB Layout and IPC awareness (Preferably Altium).
• EMC Awareness at product and PCB level.
• Awareness of Def-Stan/Mil Standards, Safety and Quality processes.
• Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration and Test.
• Experience of working with lab test equipment, JTAG design and debug of electronic circuits.
• Experience of Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tool.

Job description

To be based on-site at our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices and reporting to the Design Team Lead, the Senior Electronics Engineer is expected to take responsibility for the design, development and support of mixed electrical / electronic solutions from concept to completion following a detailed phase-gate development process.

Define processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of the electrical / electronic hardware.

Provide technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.

Facilitate the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture.

• Design and development of electrical / electronic circuitry (includes, analogue, digital, microprocessor, FPGA design techniques and power electronics).
• Analysis, test and evaluation of electronic / electrical circuits and components.
• Electrical/Electronic circuit simulation and analysis.
• The ability to produce technical documentation to support all activities, from trade studies, requirements documentation, compliance evidence and test documentation.
• Strong team player with good written and verbal communication skills.
