What You'll Be Doing

As a Lead Electronics Engineer, you'll be part of a tight-knit team tackling everything from failure diagnostics to reverse engineering. This is a hands-on technical role with leadership responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:
• Leading end-to-end electronics projects, from fault analysis to product delivery
• Designing and developing PCBs and embedded systems
• Performing detailed root cause analysis and resolving electronic failures
• Diagnosing and repairing legacy or obsolete equipment
• Managing small project teams and mentoring junior engineers and apprentices
• Liaising directly with clients to scope requirements, provide technical assessments, and manage expectations
• Creating schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation to national and international standards (e.g. ISO, EN)
• Supporting R&D activities and contributing to innovation
• Ensuring safety and compliance with industry regulations

What We're Looking For

We're after someone who combines strong technical know-how with practical, real-world problem-solving skills and enjoys being deeply involved in the work.

Essential experience:

• Root cause analysis and risk assessment
• Experience working safely with high voltages, tools, and high-power systems
• Ability to manage and deliver projects independently
• Customer-facing experience with strong communication skills
• Workshop/lab skills: soldering (SMD/through-hole), harness assembly, crimping, enclosure work

Bonus points for:
• Embedded coding (C, C++, Python)
• Firmware development for 8/32-bit targets (PIC, ARM, AVR, TMS320)
• Use of debugging tools (JTAG, SWD)
• Control systems development (H-infinity, LQR)
• Simulation tools (SPICE, Matlab, Simulink)
• Familiarity with emissions and thermal/environmental standards
• Experience in safety-critical industries (rail, defence, medical, nuclear, aerospace)

What Makes You a Great Fit

We love engineers who are naturally curious and resourceful, maybe you restore vintage electronics in your spare time, redesign your car's wiring just for fun, or spend weekends 3D printing custom parts. That kind of mindset is a perfect match here.
