Job summary

Catering is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to own projects from concept through production. You will collaborate directly with clients, balance technical delivery, timescales and budget, and guide a multi-disciplinary team in a remote-friendly role with occasional site work around Dunstable.

You will design hardware, perform validation, contribute to quotations, and help develop engineering standards while mentoring other engineers.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience designing electronic hardware from concept through to production.
• Proven ownership of projects and delivery against timescales.
• Experience with mixed analogue and digital design and microcontrollers.
• Experience with schematic capture using Altium and/or Cadence.
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
• Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• Own electronics design projects from initial enquiry through to production handover.
• Translate client requirements into clear technical specifications.
• Define project scope, estimate engineering effort and identify resources.
• Provide technical direction to Electronics and PCB Engineers, allocating work and reviews.
• Hands-on hardware design, simulation, prototype bring-up, testing and fault finding.
• Support quotations and proposals with technical input and delivery plans.
• Identify risks early and find practical solutions.
• Produce and review technical documentation, design reviews and reports.
• Support EMC, validation, integration activities at lab, test houses and customer sites.
• Help develop engineering standards and mentor less experienced engineers.
