Job summary

Mark May is seeking an experienced Lead Electrician to join and grow our electrical division. Based in Hertford with site work in North London and Ipswich, you will handle domestic electrical installations, heat pump wiring, and boiler/heating system electrical work.

The role offers a clear path into Electrical Supervisor and Manager positions as the division expands, with progression supported by ongoing training and development in renewable technologies.

Qualifications

• JIB Gold Card Electrician
• 2391 Testing & Inspection desirable
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience in domestic electrical installations
• NAPIT or NICEIC registration desirable

Responsibilities

• Carrying out domestic electrical installation works across North London
• Wiring and commissioning air source heat pump installations in Ipswich
• Carrying out electrical work associated with boiler installations and heating systems
• Completing domestic electrical installations, including new wiring and associated works
• Carrying out consumer unit upgrades, testing and fault finding where required
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and complies with current regulations
• Working closely with heating engineers and installation teams
• Maintaining excellent customer service on every job
• Supporting the development of the electrical division as the business grows

Lead Electrician

Location: Office based in Hertford - site locations include North London and Ipswich

Salary: £45,000-£55,000 DOE plus company vehicle & fuel card

Hours: Monday-Friday

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We're recruiting an experienced Electrician to join a growing mechanical and electrical business, carrying out domestic electrical installation works across North London, as well as renewable energy installations across Ipswich and surrounding areas.

The role will involve a combination of domestic electrical installations, air source heat pump wire-ups and electrical works associated with boiler and heating systems.

This is more than just another electrician role. As the business continues to grow, you'll have the opportunity to help develop the electrical division, with a clear pathway into an Electrical Supervisor and ultimately Electrical Manager position for the right candidate.

Initially, the role will involve working across North London, Ipswich and surrounding areas. As you progress into a management position, you'll be based from the company's head office in Hertford.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out domestic electrical installation works across North London

What We're Looking For

• JIB Gold Card Electrician
• Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent) desirable
• Proven experience in domestic electrical installations
• NAPIT or NICEIC registered is desirable but not essential
• Full UK driving licence
• Reliable, professional and able to work independently
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Renewable energy or heat pump experience is desirable but not essential

Full training can be provided on heat pump installations and renewable technologies for the right candidate.
