Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Qualified Supervisor to oversee electrical compliance across solar PV, battery storage, EV charging and ASHP installations. You will be the technical lead for electrical safety, certification and regulatory governance, ensuring every installation meets BS 7671, MCS standards and RECC.

This role includes reviewing designs, signing off works and test results, conducting on-site audits, mentoring teams, and providing expert technical support

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification, AM2/AM2S/AM2E, 18th Edition (BS 7671).
• Level 3 Inspection & Testing (2391‑52 or equivalent).
• Experience in solar PV, battery storage or ASHP electrical integration.
• Strong understanding of MCS standards, electrical compliance, and safety.
• Ability to lead teams and uphold high installation standards.

Responsibilities

• Technical compliance & governance for solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, and ASHP installations.
• Sign off electrical works, tests, commissioning sheets, and documentation.
• Review and approve designs; sizing, inverter selection, cable calculations, protection.
• On-site audits to ensure safety, tidiness, reliability and proper workflow.
• Mentor electricians and installers; deliver training on safety and commissioning.
• Provide expert technical support and customer guidance.
• Maintain accreditation and manage audits, renewals, and DNO applications.
