Xia Engineering in Caerphilly, Wales, is seeking a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a hands-on leadership role in a growing manufacturing site. Salary £50k–£57k, private medical, 24 days holiday + bank holidays, pension, and technology-driven maintenance environment.

You will lead a maintenance team, diagnose complex electrical faults, and drive improvements across high-speed lines and plant utilities. Applicants should have strong PLC skills and 18th Edition.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on maintenance leadership experience in a modern manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and PLC diagnostics capabilities (Siemens/AB/Rockwell).
• Experience leading shop-floor technicians and developing a maintenance team.
• Current 18th Edition BS 7671 qualification and full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across high-speed production lines and site utilities.
• Mentor and direct a team of maintenance engineers and technicians.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, perform complex diagnostics, and implement improvements.
• Oversee site services, power, HVAC, compressed air, and facilities maintenance.
• Lead preventative maintenance programs, RCA, and asset performance using CMMS.

HND or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
