Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer | Commercial Buildings | Mobile Role within the Midlands (5 sites) | £40-42K + Van & Package

Due to increased contract demand, we are currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work on a hands-on basis and oversee site compliance across 5 commercial office buildings located between Nottingham, Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, and Cambridge.

This is a self-managed role across multiple sites, meaning weekly visits are not required. You will manage your workload independently, ensuring all PPMs are completed on schedule, reactive maintenance duties are attended to promptly, and all on-site compliance documentation (remedial reports, log books, etc.) is accurate and up to date.

• Base Salary: £40,000
• Additional allowances: £1,200 per AP status gained (e.g., LVAP, Mechanical Pressure Systems AP)
• Provided: Company Van, Fuel Card, Uniform, Phone
• Status: Permanent, PAYE
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00am – 5:00pm (flexible when travelling)
• Paid overtime available
• Call out rota: 1 in 4 weeks, £100 standby allowance + minimum 4 hours pay if called out

Responsibilities

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs): emergency light testing, fire alarm tests, tap temperature checks, HVAC filter cleans, etc.
• Reactive Maintenance: lamps, ballasts, security lighting, fault finding, transformers, wiring, sockets, circuits, power supplies, and other electrical components within building services (HVAC, fire, security, etc.), including first-line faults in HVAC equipment.
• BMS monitoring
• Providing detailed remedial reports
• Updating log books and compliance paperwork
• Liaising with engineers, management, sub-contractors, and clients via phone, email, and face-to-face

Requirements

• Qualified to Part 2 / Level 3 standard or equivalent (e.g., City and Guilds 2360 Part 2, City and Guilds 2330 Level 3, NVQ Level 3)
• Willing to undertake updated regulations training (City and Guilds 18th edition)
• Experience in a commercial maintenance role
• Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role, including remedial reports, log books, site compliance, permits, RAMS, and subcontractor supervision
• Valid driving license with fewer than 9 points
