GM Performance Power Units is seeking a skilled engineer to lead the optimization of next-generation hybrid powertrains in Formula 1. You will drive innovation in high-speed electric motors, as well as oversee prototype development and compliance with FIA regulations.

Competenze

  • 8+ years in high-speed electric motors or hybrid powertrains.
  • Hands-on motorsport prototyping and testing experience.

  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams-electromagnetics, mechanical design, thermal, controls, and advanced manufacturing-to integrate and optimize the MGU within the hybrid powertrain, ensuring maximum power density, efficiency, and race reliability. Oversee prototype development, dynamometer testing programs, and data-driven iterations guiding engineering functions to achieve validated, race-ready solutions. Direct design reviews, FMEA processes, documentation, and compliance with FIA F1 regulations on MGU power, weight, RPM limits, and safety interfaces. Foster innovation by driving research into next-gen materials (e.g., advanced composites, magnetic alloys), manufacturing advances, and DFM/DFA principles to enable scalable, high-quality e-motor production.
