Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Electrical Engineering Specialist to lead electrical design, implementation, and maintenance for telecom infrastructure in Randburg, Gauteng. You will guide power systems, grounding, and protection while mentoring engineers and ensuring project delivery.

You will oversee installation, testing, and commissioning, analyze power requirements for resilience, and develop comprehensive schematics and documentation. Strong leadership and knowledge of standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with focus on power systems and telecom infrastructure.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for telecom infrastructure, including power supply, grounding, and protection systems.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Analyze power requirements and ensure system resilience and redundancy.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and power-related issues affecting network operations.
• Provide mentorship to a team of electrical engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers and project managers.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (BICSI, SANS) and safety regulations.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in power systems and telecom infrastructure.
