Job summary

Fuse Energy is seeking a Civil Engineer to provide specialist civil engineering across UK utility-scale solar PV, wind, BESS, and data centre portfolios. You will act as the technical authority, review designs, assure constructability, and govern EPC interfaces from development through commissioning.

You will ensure safety and compliance with UK standards, support site teams during construction, and drive long-term asset performance across projects.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in civil engineering within construction, infrastructure, energy or renewable projects.
• Strong experience in utility-scale Solar PV, Wind, BESS or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Deep understanding of earthworks, drainage design, roads, foundations, and underground services.
• Experience reviewing civil engineering drawings, designs, and technical documentation.
• Strong knowledge of constructability, site logistics, and ground engineering principles.
• Ability to critically assess and challenge EPC and consultant design outputs.
• Exposure to construction site environments and delivery phases.
• Knowledge of UK civil engineering standards, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Act as civil engineering SME across infrastructure projects, leading earthworks, drainage, access roads, foundations, cable routes.
• Review and approve civil designs from EPCs/consultants, ensuring safety, buildability and cost-efficiency.
• Provide input to optimize design solutions, constructability and asset performance.
• Review civil deliverables and ensure compliance with UK standards and project specs.
• Identify and mitigate design risks, cross-discipline interfaces, and maintain standards across portfolio.
• Provide civil input from development through construction and commissioning, supporting EPC interface.
• Support site teams during construction, oversee inspections and resolve on-site issues.
• Assist punch-list close-out, as-built validation and handover to Asset Management.
• Interface with EPCs, contractors, consultants; support due diligence and lender advisory; escalation point.
