Job description

As an Associate / Lead Electrical Engineer, you will be a senior member of the team supporting the Associate Director leading the MEPHFC team. Your responsibilities include leading and managing engineers, delivering electrical designs, and potentially assuming roles such as CEM or CRE. We seek a dedicated, diligent, and driven individual who will contribute to a dynamic team with ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Undertake the CEM and/or CRE role
  2. Deputise for the Associate Director as required
  3. Develop designs from feasibility to As Built stage
  4. Conduct design reviews and adhere to assurance processes
  5. Contribute to team growth and technical development
  6. Lead and manage a small team of engineers
  7. Mentor team members in CRE roles and provide discipline training
  8. Promote a 'get it right first time' culture
  9. Produce and issue progress reports
  10. Prepare and deliver presentations to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member of an engineering institute with Engineering Council registration
  • Experience in CEM/CRE/DPE roles
  • Experience managing projects per NR-L2-RSE-02009 standards
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in the railway industry
  • Experience in rail station electrical services design and coordination
  • Knowledge of British Standards, Rail Standards (Network Rail, HS2, TfL)
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to train and upskill team members
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in leading meetings and client presentations
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems from technical to maintenance aspects
  • Knowledge of engineering software tools (e.g., Trimble/Amtech Pro Design, Dialux, Relux)
  • Understanding procurement processes and lead times
