Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a pharmacist to lead the new Emergency Department pharmacy service, ensuring timely access to critical medicines and compliance with medicines management standards. The role supports the emergency medicine team and drives cost-effective initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have independent prescribing, hospital pharmacy experience, and a track record in leadership, change management and KPI delivery within ED settings.

Qualifications

• Clinical pharmacy knowledge from a 4-year degree and pre-registration training.
• Significant hospital pharmacy experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Awareness of NHS priorities in emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Emergency Department pharmacy service and drive service enhancements with the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure timely delivery of critical medicines to emergency patients.
• Monitor medicines management against local, regional and national standards.
• Support the emergency medicine team to work efficiently and maximise skill sets.
• Identify cost-effective medicine initiatives within the ED.
• Support KPIs delivery through the clinical pharmacy service.
