Job summary

Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS FT is seeking a Specialist ST3+ in Emergency Medicine for a 12-month fixed-term post at Doncaster Royal Infirmary/Bassetlaw Hospital. The role offers a 40-hour week with a comprehensive rota, consultant presence, and overnight leadership responsibilities.

Essential: MBChB/MBBS, GMC license, and ALS/ATLS/EPALS or equivalent. Applicants must have UK ED experience and be able to lead teams and train junior staff. NHS pension, generous leave, and career development await.

Qualifications

• Valid ALS/ATLS/EPALS or equivalent certifications are required.
• Minimum UK ED experience as specified (ST3+ level).
• Full GMC registration and License to Practice are essential.
• Ability to lead overnight shifts and manage a busy Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Manage a broad spectrum of emergency patients.
• Supervise F1, F2 and GP VTS doctors in patient management.
• Strengthen delivery of high-quality ED services hospital-wide.
• Develop links between Emergency Medicine and other specialties.
• Teach and train medical students and junior staff.
• Lead on service quality and audit initiatives.
