Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Lead Digital Engineer to own a core manufacturing software platform shaping the delivery of major infrastructure programmes. You will work across engineering, manufacturing, product development and software delivery teams to align digital tools with real-world needs.

Based initially in Dartford before transitioning to Sizewell, the role supports automated manufacturing capabilities and hands-on testing, validation, and training for end users in a live manufacturing

Qualifications

Recent experience in reinforcement delivery or engineering, including rebar coordination, modelling, detailing or assembly sequencing.
Experience with digital engineering or manufacturing software delivery.
Ability to gather and translate requirements across multidisciplinary teams.
Experience delivering training for technical or operational users.
Knowledge of software testing, bug management or simulation-based validation.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end delivery of a core manufacturing software platform from requirements through deployment.
Translate operational needs into prioritised software specifications.
Lead software testing, bug management and release readiness activities.
Develop and deliver training, user guides and competency frameworks.
Collaborate with Product Development and Manufacturing teams to align software capability with operational requirements.
Manage stakeholder relationships, risks and programme-wide decision making.
