Job summary

Standard Life plc is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to strengthen the Customer Digital Platform's engineering foundations. You will drive practical improvements across Azure API platform integration, cloud infra, CI/CD automation, observability and deployment safety in collaboration with internal squads and partners.

You will lead hands-on engineering efforts, embed SRE practices, and work with security, architecture and service teams to raise availability and recoverability for customer‑facing

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a DevOps Lead, Senior DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer or hands-on technical lead.
• Proactive self-starter with a track record of identifying issues and delivering improvements.
• Strong practical Azure experience, including Azure DevOps and API platform capabilities.
• Hands-on expertise in Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD pipeline design and deployment automation.
• Knowledge of incident management, problem management and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Deliver immediate DevOps improvements across the Customer Digital Platform.
• Improve Azure API platform integration and cloud infrastructure.
• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines, IaC, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Terraform and automated testing.
• Enhance deployment safety, release readiness and monitoring.
• Embed reliability and operational-readiness in engineering delivery.
• Support major incidents and post-incident reviews for root-cause analysis.
