As Lead Development Engineer (Server Side) for BestX product, VP

The ideal candidate will be:

• Responsible for implementation and delivery of new server-side components, microservices, web APIs, and enhancements to the BestX product.
• Exhibit superior skills in modern Agile, Cloud-based, server-side development, database, and related technologies.
• Develop understanding in Transaction Cost Analysis and key benchmarks required for MiFID and MiFIR.
• Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the application, influencing technology decisions.
• Taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion.
• Establishing best practices, clean code, and design patterns.
• Driving change through the organization with passion.
• Advocating Test Driven Development and promoting Shift Left to facilitate effective CI/CD.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Core/Must have skills

• 15+ years programming experience with modern languages such as Java, C++, or C#, including object-oriented design, distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases like PostGres, Oracle, distributed cache, messaging systems.
• Extensive experience designing and building low-level APIs for high-volume, latency-sensitive applications, with knowledge in multi-threading, data structures, grid computing, and message-oriented middleware.
• Experience contributing to architecture and design, including design patterns, reliability, and scalability of systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or other modern cloud infrastructure.

Good to have skills

• Knowledge or expertise in FX, Fixed Income, Equity, or Equity Derivatives products.
• Experience with KDB.
• Understanding of modern JavaScript build tools like node, npm, rush, yarn, webpack, babel, Cyprus.
