As Lead Development Engineer (Server Side) for BestX product, VP

The ideal candidate will be:

• Responsible for implementation and delivery of new server-side components, microservices, web APIs, and enhancements to the BestX product.
• Exhibit superior skills in modern Agile, Cloud-based, Server-side, Database, and Development practices.
• Develop understanding in Transaction Cost Analysis and key benchmarks required for MiFID and MiFIR.
• Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the application and influencing technology decisions.
• Responsible for taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion.
• Responsible for establishing best practices, clean code, and design patterns.
• Be passionate about driving change through an organization.
• A proponent of Test Driven Development, always striving to Shift Left to facilitate effective CI/CD.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Core/Must have skills

• 15+ years programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design, distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases like PostGres, Oracle, with experience in messaging and distributed caches.
• Extensive experience in designing and building low-level APIs for high-volume, latency-sensitive applications, with experience in multi-threading, data structures, grid computing, and message-oriented middleware.
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Hands-on experience working with AWS and/or other modern cloud infrastructure.

Good to have skills

• Knowledge or expertise in FX, Fixed Income, Equity, or Equity Derivatives products.
• KDB experience.
• Exposure to modern JavaScript build tools like node, npm, rush, yarn, webpack, babel, Cyprus.
