Job summary

Evolve Energy Supply Limited in Manchester is seeking a Lead Developer to drive a strategic migration to microservices on Azure. You will mentor a small engineering team, set coding standards, and influence technology choices while reporting to senior leadership.

You will write high-quality C# across ASP.NET Core, Blazor, and gRPC, and build Azure-native infrastructure. This role blends hands‑on coding with technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong C# experience on .NET 9 or later.
• Proven design of microservices or service-based architectures.
• Solid understanding of DDD, CQRS and Event Sourcing.
• Experience with Azure-native services (AKS, Service Bus, Functions, SQL).
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
• Mentoring developers and conducting code reviews.
• Familiarity with Blazor (Server/WebAssembly).
• Experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Architect migration from monolith to microservices on Azure.
• Design services using DDD, CQRS, and Event Sourcing with clear boundaries.
• Write production-ready C# for ASP.NET Core, Blazor, and gRPC.
• Build and maintain Azure infrastructure (AKS, Functions, Service Bus, SQL).
• Own IaC using Bicep or Terraform and embed observability from day one.
• Champion TDD with xUnit, Playwright, and Pact for contracts.
• Lead mentoring and code reviews to raise engineering standards.
• Improve delivery metrics, quality and platform reliability.
• Act as Scrum Master and align with Product Owners.
