Job summary

Omexom in Carlisle is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design delivery for a major UK HV transmission project. The role combines site-based work with hybrid collaboration, ensuring design programmes, coordination and governance are delivered safely and to high standards.

Reporting to the Design Management Regional Lead, you will drive multidisciplinary design teams, review design deliverables and engage with National Grid and industry partners to support successful project

Qualifications

Significant experience in HV substation or transmission projects.
Strong understanding of National Grid standards, assurance processes and project delivery requirements.
Design management experience within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
Knowledge of CDM regulations, design assurance and NEC contracts.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Managing design delivery across a complex HV transmission project.
Coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and key stakeholders.
Driving design assurance, compliance and technical governance.
Managing design change, risk and NEC contract-related processes.
Supporting client engagement with National Grid, SSE and other industry partners.
Leading design reviews and ensuring seamless integration between design and construction teams.
