Job summary

M & K Consult Ltd seeks an experienced Design Manager to own the design process from feasibility to handover. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure buildability, compliance and value.

The role requires leading multidisciplinary teams, mitigating design risk and driving efficiency through design gateways. The candidate should have strong knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM and document management platforms, with a track record in main

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Manager within a main contractor, developer or design and build environment.
• Strong understanding of the construction process from pre-construction through to project delivery.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams.
• Knowledge of RIBA Plan of Work and design management principles.
• Excellent understanding of Building Regulations and CDM requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and manage risk.
• Experience using document management platforms such as Asite, Viewpoint or similar.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the design process from feasibility through to project completion.
• Coordinate designs with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Develop technical solutions, identify and mitigate design risk, drive value engineering.
• Ensure projects progress efficiently through each design gateway.
