Job description

Our client, a leading player in the engineering sector, is seeking a dynamic Lead Design Engineer - Electrical to join their talented team in Ulverston, Cumbria. If you're passionate about electrical engineering and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!

About the Role:
As a Lead Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of technical management for customer orders within a project team. Your ability to communicate effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders will be essential in delivering economical and timely solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical management of projects to meet client expectations and internal procedures.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for project teams.
  • Participate in tender-to-project handover meetings and lead project kick-offs and reviews.
  • Conduct site surveys, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • optimise project budgets by utilising standard parts and designs.
  • Lead design review meetings, ensuring thorough communication of technical information.
  • Produce various technical drawings including circuit diagrams, cable schedules, and interface drawings.
  • Interface with the Factory for manufacturing and testing queries.
  • Support the Tendering team with technical advice for client inquiries.

Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:

  • HNC level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Proven experience in technical project management.
  • Proficiency in producing electrical drawings.
  • Exceptional communication and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and stakeholder management.

Desirable:

  • HND level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing/utilities environments.
  • Factory acceptance testing experience.
  • Commercial experience.
