Job summary

pxFairport (pxF) is recruiting a Lead Design Engineer to take ownership of all design outputs on allocated projects, coordinating 3D models and equipment interfaces, and producing drawings and manufacture packs. You will supervise and mentor Design Engineers to ensure quality and consistency.

You will receive personalised on-the-job training, mentoring and biannual development reviews to strengthen your contributions and competence within a safety-focused, ISO-aligned environment.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in a relevant design/engineering discipline.
• Experience as a Design Engineer in material handling.
• Strong knowledge of bulk material handling and conveyors.
• Proficient with 3D CAD and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of equipment and schemes to the brief.
• Produce 3D models and technical drawings to CAD standards.
• Prepare technical documentation per company standards.
• Manage drawings, BOMs, and technical documents.
• Ensure outputs meet project specs and standards.
• Lead design review meetings and track actions.
• Analyse designs to improve safety, DfMA, and functionality.
• Promote value engineering and right-first-time delivery.
• Undertake site visits to support project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and project team.
• Ensure work aligns with ISO 9001 / COS processes.
