Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Manchester/Tamworth is seeking a Principal Design Manager to lead design delivery for water non-infrastructure projects across the UK water sector. You will coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical and process teams and manage design programmes to meet client specifications.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status or active chartership pursuit, with attendance at Tamworth offices one to two days weekly. Strong leadership and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Strong UK water sector experience.
• Proven ability to lead design programmes across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery across a portfolio of water non-infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across civil, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines.
• Develop and manage design programmes across multiple projects.
• Review and approve design deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Act as the primary design interface with the water utility client.
• Support project managers with budgets, resources and design risk management.
• Mentor engineers and design leads within the team.
