Job summary

GRW Talent’s client in the Scottish Borders is recruiting a Lead Dayshift Engineer to supervise maintenance and engineering activities on site in Jedburgh. You will deputise for the Engineering Leader, lead the team, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with maintenance standards.

The role focuses on hands-on engineering support, diagnostics, and coordinating PM tasks around production with a strong emphasis on reliability and asset care.

Qualifications

• Engineering or multi-skilled maintenance background with senior responsibilities.
• Experience leading maintenance teams in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Familiarity with PUWER, LOLER, and environmental standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for Engineering Leader when required and manage the engineering team.
• Provide technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
• Carry out preventive maintenance per PM schedules and respond to breakdowns.
• Coordinate maintenance around production needs and update CMMS records.
• Monitor spare parts levels and assist in continuous improvement initiatives.
