Job summary

British Airways seeks a Principal Data Scientist to lead data science initiatives across Finance & Transformation. You’ll manage teams, scope client needs, and deliver scalable ML solutions that integrate with business processes.

You’ll ensure model ethics, performance, and continuous improvement while coaching others in an agile environment. You’ll bring a numerate degree with data science components and a track record building industrialised ML software, plus strong stakeholder management

Qualifications

• Numerate degree with data science components.
• Experience leading data science teams.
• Experience in developing industrialised software, especially data science or machine learning software products.
• Experience in relevant business domains (transportation, airlines) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data science initiatives across a portfolio of products.
• Scope and document client needs and frame data science solutions aligned with business goals.
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery and reporting on KPIs.
• Design, train and productionise data science products and ML pipelines.
• Coach teams and foster collaboration within Agile squads.
