Job summary

British Airways seeks a Principal Data Scientist - Finance & Transformation to lead end-to-end data science delivery across critical business areas within Agile cross-functional squads. You will drive production-ready models, optimisation engines and decision-support tools that integrate with business processes and technical infrastructure.

You will line-manage teams, mentor staff and collaborate with Digital and business stakeholders to translate model results into actionable

Qualifications

• Numerate degree or equivalent with data science components.
• Experience of leading others in applying data science to business problems.
• Experience in developing industrialised software, especially data science or machine learning software products (required).
• Experience in relevant business domains (transportation, airlines, operations) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead data science teams to deliver a portfolio of products from scoping to delivery.
• Scope ill-defined needs and frame data science solutions aligned with business goals.
• Ensure quality, timely delivery of data science products for the business area.
• Report on team KPIs and drive continuous improvement in capabilities.
• Translate results into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
