Job summary

British Airways is seeking a Principal Data Scientist for the Finance & Transformation function to drive end-to-end data science products. You will lead Agile squads, build production-ready models, and mentor teams while aligning with business goals and governance.

You will steer data-driven decision-making, guide stakeholders, and collaborate with Digital teams to deliver scalable solutions across the airline. Strong leadership and technical expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Numerate degree with data science components.
• Experience leading data science teams.
• Experience in developing industrialised software, especially data science or ML software products (required).
• Experience in relevant business domains (transportation, airlines, operations, network problems) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end data science initiatives across business areas.
• Scope and document ill-defined client needs and frame data science solutions.
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of data science products for an area of the business.
• Collaborate with Digital teams to productionise models and front ends.
• Coach data science teams and manage product lifecycles.
