Job summary

ICIS, part of RELX, is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join our Analytics Hub in Karlsruhe or London. You will build market-leading predictive models and interactive analytics for commodity markets, coordinating with analysts, engineers and customers.

Qualifications include 5+ years in predictive modelling, production-ready Python/SQL, and experience with Docker, Git and Airflow. You’ll lead projects and shape decisions with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in predictive modelling for commodity markets.
• Able to deliver production-ready Python/SQL code.
• Experience with data modelling and Dash visualisations.
• Familiar with Docker, Git and Airflow.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Create and improve analytical commodity market models in Python with cross-team collaboration.
• Guide and project-manage market modelling talent and align with stakeholders.
• Ingest, clean, and impute freight, pricing, and supply/demand data.
• Create interactive analytics and decision tools using Dash; prototype with Spec‑Driven‑Development.
• Discuss models with customers and translate domain knowledge into models.
• Own developments from day 1 and mentor peers.
