Job summary

Raylo is pursuing ambitious international growth and seeks a Lead Data Scientist to build and lead a high-impact data science function. You will define the strategy, design and deploy production ML models, and drive analytics across credit risk, retention and recommendations.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, risk and commercial teams, mentor data scientists, and shape the roadmap as Raylo scales globally. Hybrid work is offered, with strong emphasis on measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data science and predictive modelling.
• A degree with 2:1 or higher from a top university (STEM/quantitative).
• Proven ability to deploy ML models to production and influence decision-making across business areas.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead Raylo’s data science function, deploying AI/ML to solve key business problems.
• Own end-to-end design, build and deployment of production-grade ML models (credit risk, churn, recommendations).
• Partner with product, engineering, risk, operations and commercial to identify opportunities for advanced modelling.
• Translate modelling approaches into clear commercial benefits for stakeholders.
• Shape the data science roadmap and build the function as Raylo scales.
