Job summary

ITV is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to act as a technical orchestrator across real-time data systems. You will design high-scale architectures, balance data pipelines with cloud-native platforms, and mentor the engineering team.

Based in London with hybrid work (1-2 days on site), you will collaborate with product and DevOps to deliver reliable data solutions and governance across the ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience designing high-scale, cloud-native data architectures.
• Hands-on engineering across real-time data pipelines.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical governance.

Responsibilities

• Technical orchestration of event-driven streaming solutions.
• Architect real-time data ingestion and cloud infrastructure integration.
• Mentor engineers, manage debt, and enforce quality frameworks.
• Translate business roadmaps into technical tasks and maintain a lean backlog.
• Ensure operational excellence with monitoring and SLA adherence.
• Lead escalation and RCA during critical incidents.
