LiveScore Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of robust data pipelines on GCP, shaping data models and analytics capabilities across the business.

You will guide automation, security and governance, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business needs into scalable data solutions. The role spans real-time and batch workloads within a fast-growing sports tech ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data engineering or data warehousing with large-scale, complex datasets.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills; experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Deep knowledge of data-modelling techniques.
• Extensive experience with cloud data services, preferably GCP (Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Vertex AI).
• Proven ability to design and implement robust ELT pipelines for real-time and large-scale batch processing.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Airflow; Docker experience.
• Experience contributing to an AI roadmap and evaluating AI tooling.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Experience applying data governance, privacy and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of robust data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Cloud Storage.
• Own the design of data models and databases to support analytics and intelligence.
• Lead automation of data workflows and cost optimisation within GCP using Cloud Composer.
• Ensure data security and governance; manage access controls and compliance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate new GCP features and data-engineering technologies and steer technical direction.
